Description:

YDLIDAR SDM15 is a high-precision single-point laser ranging module with small error and strong stability. Based on TOF ranging principle, the sampling frequency is up to 1.8kHz, the detection distance is up to 15m, and it can resist 60KLux strong light environment. It is small and light, and can be used in indoor and outdoor UAV obstacle avoidance at fixed height, robot obstacle avoidance, home service robot/sweeping robot navigation obstacle avoidance and other use scenarios. We provide driver tutorials based on Linux, ROS and STM32 for users' reference.
Features:
  • Small size, about 17.2 x 45 x 22.3mm
  • The sampling frequency is up to 1.8kHz, the detection distance is up to 15m, and it can resist the strong light environment of 60KLux.
  • Widely used, such as UAV flight, robot obstacle avoidance, sweeping robot, etc.

How does this LiDAR work?

YDLIDAR SDM15 is based on TOF, namely, Time of Flight principle. It emits modulation waves of near-infrared rays on a periodic basis, which will be reflected after contact with an object. The LiDAR obtains the time of flight by measuring the round-trip phase difference and then calculates the relative distance between the LiDAR and the detected object.
